Power in Weakness

When I am aware of my own flaws and weakness it means God’s grace and power can operate in me more.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 (NCV)

But he said to me, “My grace is enough for you. When you are weak, my power is made perfect in you.” So I am very happy to brag about my weaknesses. Then Christ’s power can live in me. For this reason I am happy when I have weaknesses, insults, hard times, sufferings, and all kinds of troubles for Christ. Because when I am weak, then I am truly strong.

Every place I see my own weakness, flaws, inabilities, inadequacy and need, is an opportunity for God to cover me with His grace, fill me with His power and say, “Don’t worry, I’ve got this. Listen to me, follow me, and you’ll be fine.” When I learn to do that, it is for other people’s benefit also because God’s grace and power can then flow through me and touch them, instead of my mistakes or inadequacies.

We’re not weak in everything. God gives us strengths too and He wants us to carry excellence in all that we do and say, in how we interact, and in every outcome.

Philippians 3:14-15 (NCV)

I keep trying to reach the goal and get the prize for which God called me through Christ to the life above. All of us who are spiritually mature should think this way, too. And if there are things you do not agree with, God will make them clear to you.

In all things, strengths and weaknesses, I press on towards what Christ calls in me. It’s progressive. In my weaknesses, I can rest in God, sit in Him and invite Him to take over. I can watch as His beauty and His will unfolds through me. Also in my strengths, I need to surrender all to God and ask Christ’s power to perfect me and realise when I submit to Him, He is able to do even more in me, and do so much more beautifully in me, through me, for the benefit of others.

I need to be aware of my pride, my misgivings, my apprehensions, and anticipations that come out in all sorts of ways. I need to be aware of how God can go ahead of me and complete, purify and perfect in me everything I am not on my own.

God will supply all of my needs, not just materially. I need all of His benefits.

Jude 1:2 (AMP)

May mercy and peace and love be multiplied to you [filling your heart with the spiritual well-being and serenity experienced by those who walk closely with God].
