Know No Defeat
Receive No Intimidation
Standing in the rush of a stream, I’m conscious of the swell and the force behind it. To stand in its power and not be moved I plant my feet squarely and brace myself. When I experience these times in life, here is what the Lord says.
Isaiah 59:18-19 (NLT)
He will repay his enemies for their evil deeds. His fury will fall on his foes. He will pay them back even to the ends of the earth. In the west, people will respect the name of the Lord; in the east, they will glorify him.
For he will come like a raging flood tide driven by the breath of the Lord. [Or When the enemy comes like a raging flood tide, / the Spirit of the Lord will drive him back.]
The Lord will fight for me and vindicate me when I come under attack from other people. He will not leave me unprotected.
Deuteronomy 28:6-8 (EHV)
You will be blessed when you come in, and you will be blessed when you go out. The Lord will cause your enemies who rise up against you to be defeated before you. From one direction they will come out against you, but they will flee from you in seven directions. The Lord will command a blessing on you in your storehouses and in regard to every action of your hand, and he will bless you in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.
I am confident of the Lord’s protection. I am confident He will vindicate me. I am confident in the Lord my God.
Psalm 27:1-2 (NET)
The Lord is my light and my salvation [“light” is often used as a metaphor for deliverance and the life/blessings it brings; another option is that “light” refers here to divine guidance]. I fear no one. The Lord protects my life. I am afraid of no one. When evil men attack me to devour my flesh, when my adversaries and enemies attack me, they stumble and fall.
I know no defeat, receive no intimidation.
Psalm 100:3 (NLT)
Acknowledge that the Lord is God! He made us, and we are his. We are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
