Secure Your Kids

Secure the footing of your children. Guard and guide them into the kingdom with urgency. There is no time for them to be ignorant, to be disconnected or to fall away. Make sure their feet are being shod so that their footing will be secure. Secure their feet in the gospel.

Dialogue and guidance is important. Hedge them with good counsel from the Word of God so that they will learn to look to, and love the Lord.

Proverbs 22:6 (NIV)

Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.

Tell them not to be afraid. Walk alongside them so they know they are not alone. Teach them an eternal perspective. Remind them that they are a chosen generation (1 Peter 2:9). Pray for the right conversations with them. Pray their hearts would be open to the truth and their minds would be resistant to lies. Lies can sound like truth.

Know what’s happening in their school and stand up for what is right. Let your voice be heard. Pray for discernment, and pray that they will have discernment, understanding and wisdom beyond their years.

Matthew 4:19-20 (NET)

He said to them, “Follow me, and I will turn you into fishers of people!” They left their nets immediately and followed him.

Keep casting your net. The beauty of the Lord is that when His people seek Him no one is lost. Not one. Pray and keep praying for your family. The Lord is immovable and just. His Word comes to pass without fail. His righteousness stands. (Isaiah 40:8). Seek His righteousness and declare it over your family.

When Moses went to Pharaoh on behalf of the Israelites he said they were going to sacrifice to the Lord. Pharaoh asked who would be going.

Exodus 10:9

Moses answered, “We will go with our young and our old, with our sons and our daughters, and with our flocks and herds….

They were going to seek God. They were going for their freedom. Pharaoh tried to negotiate. Leave your wives and children, he said. Leave your livestock. But God directed Moses, no one and nothing was to be left behind.

Matthew 19:26 (NASB)

And looking at them, Jesus said to them, 'With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.'

God contains us and all that we own. For those who are willing to journey into the desert to seek Him, He ensures the passage and goes ahead of us. How important we are to Him that no one is left behind when we seek Him. Secure your kids for His kingdom.

Psalm 100 (CEB)

Shout triumphantly to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with celebration! Come before him with shouts of joy! Know that the Lord is God—he made us; we belong to him. We are his people, the sheep of his own pasture. Enter his gates with thanks; enter his courtyards with praise! Thank him! Bless his name! Because the Lord is good, his loyal love lasts forever; his faithfulness lasts generation after generation.
