For Freedom’s Sake


How do you know you’re free?


Galatians 5:1 (NIV)

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.


What are you burdened by? Any parts of your life that create imbalance? Where do you feel out of control or misunderstood? Do you try to prop yourself up in various ways or hide parts of yourself?


These are burdens. They are fruit produced by an underlying belief that you’re compensating for.


The Holy Spirit produces fruit in us that breathes wholeness and wellness.


Galatians 5:22-23 (NIV)

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.


The fruit of the Spirit brings freedom to imbalance. If you have areas in your life that have been bruised, torn, or broken, try feeding it with the fruit of the Spirit.


It is for freedom Christ died.  It is for freedom's sake that Christ has set you free from burdens that the devil would have you entangled with. Surrender your burdens to Christ, and see how He can produce His fruit in those difficult areas. He is able to highlight insights you need.


Galatians 5:25 (NIV)

Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 


The fruit of the Spirit brings healing. Ask Him to lift your burdens and heal your wounds with His love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, His faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Don't try being fruitful in your own strength. It's His fruit. Ask for His help. It can only be produced with time spent in His Presence. But it is abundant.


I pray that today you will find insights and freedom in an area you need to pay attention to.


Matthew 11:28-29 (NCV)

“Come to me, all of you who are tired and have heavy loads, and I will give you rest. Accept my teachings and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in spirit, and you will find rest for your lives.
