Your Architecturally Designed Building

Before a building is built, a building site is chosen, boundary lines are designated, plans are drawn up and materials are chosen for the look and function of the design.

Do you know, God did that with us, too?

He made from one blood all nations who live on the earth. He set the times and places where they should live.

God drew up the plans for our lives and chose the talents we have, the skills we would develop, and the specific people who would co-labour in our lives, so that the design of our building would be achieved.

Psalm 139:15-16 (GWT)

Your eyes saw me when I was still an unborn child. Every day of my life was recorded in your book before one of them had taken place.

It’s not always easy to see what God is doing in our life. Yet, we know He has created it. When we know Who our originator is, we follow Him. Even when we can’t see what He sees, we know He sees, and so we follow Him.

And again, “I will put my trust in Him.”

When we believe, where else do we go, what else do we do? We can’t disown Him one day and believe again the next, depending on how we wake up feeling. We can’t doubt what we once pronounced just because of what others say or don’t say. We can’t turn away from what we once embraced because we haven’t yet seen what we want to see.

Our trust isn’t in a human being and our faith is not to ensure our personal satisfaction.

In life, we are tested so that we may remain. No matter what happens, our faith is built on The Builder, not on the house He’s building.

Hebrews 3:3-4 (NLV)

The man who builds a house gets more honour than the house. That is why Jesus gets more honour than Moses. Every house is built by someone. And God is the One Who has built everything.

Faith is letting The Builder build the house according to the plans He drafted before our existence. When we have days where we find it hard to trust what we can’t see, we choose to ask, "How can I glorify You today?" And then we choose to do it so that we don’t bring His name into disrepute, and He can achieve His design in us.

Jeremiah 1:4-5 (NASB)

Now the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,

The Builder who is building our house, knows us personally. He knows every day, every moment, every intent, every thought, every footstep, every spoken word, every desire, and every dream. He is far more than we can imagine and He is fully good. He is the One who places what is good in each of us. We are the only ones who can invite what is not good in. Those choices can hinder the design process.

Even when we can’t see what God is doing, it's our responsibility to keep out from our building what is not good. We work with The Builder to keep our job sight clean so that He can build our house the way He has designed it – fully equipped, fully functioning, a one-of-a-kind, architecturally specific building, according to His measurements and materials. We cannot allow an inferior build because of our choices of cheaper materials and unwise adjustments.

Ephesians 2:10 (NLT)

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

Ask yourself, how have I weakened the structure of God's build in my life? Am I willing to give Him back the plans and lean on His instructions to complete my build in a relationship of trust?

Lord, help us to be found worthy of your call. Help us not to question or accuse you of inferior building, when it's us with the inferior vision. Teach us Lord, how to build with you, so that you can complete what you have started in our lives.
