To Live In His Presence

Hosea 6:2 (NIV)

After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will restore us, that we may live in his presence.

Revive us, restore us, that we may live in Your Presence. That’s what it comes down to. Just that we would live in Your Presence.

In Your Presence is peace. In Your Presence is hope. In Your Presence is assurance. Your Presence is our shield and our guiding light. Your Presence is our very future. When we have Your Presence, Lord, we have everything.

Hosea 6:3 (AMP)

“So let us know and become personally acquainted with Him; let us press on to know and understand fully the [greatness of the] Lord [to honour, heed, and deeply cherish Him]. His appearing is prepared and is as certain as the dawn, and He will come to us [in salvation] like the [heavy] rain, like the spring rain watering the earth.”

Do you have an internal insistence, a need to know the Lord more, to have His Presence permeate your headspace, your heart, your decisions, and your activities? Do you have a compulsion within you to medicate by His Word and be fuelled with His Love?

That is every person's spiritual need to know their Maker. His filling is the water we drink, like the heavy rain that soothes and refreshes the land.

After ruin, wounding, and dryness, after hopelessness, craving and desperation, the gentle, saturating rain of God’s Spirit brings incomparable healing. It’s ongoing. It comes in layers as we're able to receive. His Spirit pools and fills to overflowing wherever and however we seek Him, in those deep places of need.

Psalm 27:4 (AMP)

One thing I have asked of the Lord, and that I will seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord [in His presence] all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty [the delightful loveliness and majestic grandeur] of the Lord and to meditate in His temple.

Do you ask of the Lord? Do you seek Him? Do you gaze upon His beauty? Do you recognise meditating in His holy presence is what fills you up, calms you and restores your broken places?

Psalm 84:10 (AMP)

For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand [anywhere else]; I would rather stand [as a doorkeeper] at the threshold of the house of my God than to live [at ease] in the tents of wickedness.

Lord, draw us closer to you. Help us to recognise spending time in your presence is not wasted time. It's time well-spent. We need you more than we know.
