Sit in the Deep Seat of Trust with God

A deep seat is a seat you can nestle into. It’s a seat you go to after a long day, that’s the most comfortable, when you feel drained. It’s a seat you go to when you need to off-load the day, rest, and quietly restore, feeding back into yourself all that was taken out.

God is that deep seat. He is the ultimate comfort; the ultimate rest; the ultimate restorer. He’s the ultimate One who re-cushions you when you are feeling depleted.

Take a few precious moments. Settle into the deep seat of God and contemplate on these words. Let them soak into your heart and your spirit, let them quieten your mind. Let your heart and mind embrace their assurance and gentleness.

Psalm 27:1,8 (NCV)

The Lord is my light and the one who saves me. So why should I fear anyone? The Lord protects my life. So why should I be afraid?

My heart said of you, “Go, worship him.” So I come to worship you, Lord.

Isaiah 40:29 (ESV)

He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength.

John 14:27 (AMP)

Peace I leave with you; My [perfect] peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. [Let My perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge.]

Matthew 11:28 (AMPC)

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.]

Psalm 62:8 (ERV)

People, always put your trust in God! Tell him all your problems. God is our place of safety.

John 10:14 (NLT)

“I am the good shepherd; I know my own sheep, and they know me,

Psalm 37:5 (ESV)

Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (CEV)

With all your heart you must trust the Lord and not your own judgment. Always let him lead you, and he will clear the road for you to follow.

Psalm 23:1-3 (NET)

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He takes me to lush pastures, he leads me to refreshing water. He restores my strength.

Colossians 3:15 (NLV)

Let the peace of Christ have power over your hearts. You were chosen as a part of His body. Always be thankful.

Thank God for His companionship, His arms of love, and for being your compass. Extend your arms to Him and receive. Sit in the deep seat of trust with God and be replenished.
