Principles of Truth

Believing in the bible means I read it on different levels. I understand the contextual writings are placed in certain times and places, but I also understand the application is meant for me as an individual, and for my family or community, too.

God is a God whose long arm reaches through generations. His principles of restoration and blessing are for everyone who come back to Him through repentance and understand our attainment of His renewal is not based on our own merit. He is the one who brings us back. He calls us. Once we’re back, He tells us to be strong and help build His temple, which builds ourselves at the same time.

Zachariah 8:8-9 (NIV)

I will bring them back to live in Jerusalem; they will be my people, and I will be faithful and righteous to them as their God.” This is what the Lord Almighty says: “Now hear these words, ‘Let your hands be strong so that the temple may be built.’ This is also what the prophets said who were present when the foundation was laid for the house of the Lord Almighty.

Many have gone away from Him. Many are called to return. God promises His faithfulness and righteousness to those people. These are principles of truth in God's Word we can rely on.

Now that I’ve come back, and I’ve been building for a while again now, I know the awesome beauty of that statement. I know how truly wonderful, like balm that penetrates deeply to the bone, having God’s faithfulness and righteousness, is. Despite myself. Despite my mistakes and my blindness and my callouses and my tendency to get stuck in places. God is always faithful and righteous and just. He is the Promiser of goodness and restoration.
