Care About The One

Luke 9:10 (NLV)

For the Son of Man came to look for and to save from the punishment of sin those who are lost.”

Son of Man is a title Jesus the Christ used for Himself. He was fully God but He also became fully man to enter into the human experience of living, temptations, testing and death, taking on our sin and the punishment for the spiritual laws against sin.

He came to save the one. You’re the one. I’m the one. The people you are with today are the one. He wants us to care about the one.

Walk gently today. Walk with care. You pass people’s lives for a reason. You have conversations for a reason. People who don’t know the gentleness of Jesus need Him in you. People who don’t know the joy of Jesus need Him in you. People who don’t know the wisdom of Jesus need it in you. People need you because they need Jesus in you.

If you know Jesus, His nature will work through you, coming out in your choices, your responses, your smile, the light in your eyes. You don’t need to strive to be anything other than yourself with Him in you.

Show Him today as you walk and talk. Jesus’ light shines in you so that people will see Him. His light is a part of Himself. If you’re in loving unity with Him, at peace with Him, receiving Him, He will shine through you. You don’t have to try to ‘shine’. Let Him shine through you.

Matthew 5:16 (NCV)

In the same way, you should be a light for other people. Live so that they will see the good things you do and will praise your Father in heaven.

Think about the fruit of the Spirit.

Galatians 5:22-23 (NLV)

But the Spirit produces the fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. There is no law that says these things are wrong.

I pray that the Spirit of God in you and I will be evident today, and each day. I commit us to the perfection of His nature to shine through us, that He would be glorified in the world we inhabit, the people we’re around would receive Him as they receive us, and every darkness would flee as we walk in His power, His strength, His grace, His authority, His healing, His peace. In Jesus Name, Amen.

2 Corinthians 1:20 (NLT)

For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for his glory.
