Mothers and daughters don't always have an easy relationship. My mother and I are no different. But here's what I've learned.
We need to value the beauty of a mother as a woman and a woman as a mother. No mother gets things right all the time, but mothers who love their children and do their best deserve to be honoured.
Exodus 20:12 (NLT)
“Honor your father and mother. Then you will live a long, full life in the land the Lord your God is giving you.
Ephesians 6:3 (NLT)
If you honor your father and mother, “things will go well for you, and you will have a long life on the earth.”
I'm grateful for my mother. I'm glad I've grown out of the days where I wasn't. I'm glad I can now enjoy a good relationship with her, woman to woman as well as mother to daughter. She's a wonderful woman and I thank God for her. Thankfully, she gets my humour and is quick to laugh so she'll get some of the comments in this poem are tongue-in-cheek.
I love you mum! I bless you.
