Comfort and Thankfulness

When God has spoken, it becomes easier to breathe through every situation. When God has spoken, I can remain assured that what He says, will happen.

Jude 1:21 says “keep yourselves in God’s love”. To keep myself in God’s love means I don’t allow doubts to creep into my mind, or fears to mis-shape my heart. To keep myself in God’s love means to keep myself in a place of rest and assurance, of peace and trust, of grace and acceptance, of quietness and confidence. To keep myself in God’s love means to keep myself wrapped in the knowledge of His goodness towards me. To keep myself in God's love means I will walk in comfort and thankfulness.

Deuteronomy 31:8 (NCV)

The Lord himself will go before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forget you. Don’t be afraid and don’t worry.”

Sometimes I can think God has forgotten me, He has forgotten His words to me. But, never! He says, don’t be afraid, I haven’t forgotten you. I remember you and I remember my plans for you. I am cutting the path ahead of you. Keep yourself in the knowledge of my goodness towards you. Keep yourself there, in my love, not in doubts and worries.

Isaiah 45:2 (ESV)

“I will go before you and level the exalted places, I will break in pieces the doors of bronze and cut through the bars of iron

There is nothing difficult for God. We need to remember these words. Nothing is hard for God. He knows the way ahead for you and He will dismantle everything that needs to be dismantled for you. He will level the ground ahead so that you are able to walk forward and be positioned in all the places that He wants you.

Isaiah 52:12 (NASB)

But you will not go out in a hurry, nor will you go as fugitives; For the Lord will go before you, and the God of Israel will be your rear guard.

Don’t flee as if you’re running for your lives, as if you have to be afraid. God knows your place and your times and hedges you, cutting, shaping and protecting your path. The Lord is the Commander of heavens armies, over all powers and authorities. He is moving ahead of you, unhurried, unworried, undeterred, in complete control, fighting for you. Follow Him.

Deuteronomy 1:30 (ESV)

The LORD your God who goes before you will himself fight for you, just as he did for you in Egypt before your eyes

Before your very eyes, you will see the goodness of the Lord take place for you. Be assured, if you continue to follow Him, you will see how the Lord fights for you before your very eyes.

Psalm 139:5

(NASB) You have encircled me behind and in front, and placed Your hand upon me.

(GNT) You are all around me on every side; you protect me with your power.

Lord God, you have said so many times, in so many places in your Word how you go before your people and behind them and make a way for them. Help us to follow you, keeping ourselves in your love, knowing that you are our Defender and Keeper, our Ruler. Help us to walk in Your assurance.
