The Chestpiece of
Decision Making
Life is full of the need to make decisions, so we need to know the decisions we’re making are wise and right.
Having people in life to help make good decisions is a blessing. However, whether we have that partnership or not, we have a God who has given us assurance that, if we look to Him, He will always give us the means to make good decisions. Decisions that we can trust will be good for us.
Exodus 28:15 (NLT)
“Then, with great skill and care, make a chestpiece to be worn for seeking a decision from God.
Exodus 28:30 (NIV)
Also put the Urim and the Thummim in the breastpiece, so they may be over Aaron’s heart whenever he enters the presence of the Lord. Thus Aaron will always bear the means of making decisions for the Israelites over his heart before the Lord.
God has given me the means of making decisions for my family from my heart that is before the Lord. He will aid my pursuit towards this end. He will endow me with assurance in my heart before Him as I take steps toward what is right.
Romans 8:26 (NASB)

You can carry your chestpiece of decision-making before the Lord. The chestpiece covers the heart. Isn’t it interesting that this was an important part of Aaron’s priestly garments? Isn’t it interesting where it was situated?
Aaron carried the names of the sons of Israel on his chestpiece. We carry our family, their names, their needs, their future and direction on our chestpiece, over our heart, bearing the means of making decisions before the Lord.
Romans 8:34b (CEB)
It is Christ Jesus who also pleads our case for us.
