The Significance of Today

Psalm 118:24 (NLV)

This is the day that the Lord has made. Let us be full of joy and be glad in it.

I am alive today to worship Him.

Hebrews 13:15 (ESV)

Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name.

I am alive today because God has preserved me for this day.

Psalm 121:7-8 (NKJV)

The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore.

I am alive today because God has chosen appointments and tasks for me to do this day.

Ephesians 2:10 (NCV)

God has made us what we are. In Christ Jesus, God made us to do good works, which God planned in advance for us to live our lives doing.

I am alive today to bring God’s light to my relationships and the people around me.

Leviticus 19:18 (NCV)

Forget about the wrong things people do to you, and do not try to get even. Love your neighbour as you love yourself. I am the Lord.

I am alive today to proclaim God’s truth through the integrity of my life.

Matthew 5:16 (CEB)

In the same way, let your light shine before people, so they can see the good things you do and praise your Father who is in heaven.

I am alive today because of God’s love for me.

Zephaniah 3:17 (NASB)

The Lord your God is in your midst, A victorious warrior [who saves]. He will rejoice over you with joy, He will renew you in His love, He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy.

The significance of today comes with the significance of who I live for.

Isaiah 59:21 (NIV)

“As for me, this is my covenant with them,” says the Lord. “My Spirit, who is on you, will not depart from you, and my words that I have put in your mouth will always be on your lips, on the lips of your children and on the lips of their descendants—from this time on and forever,” says the Lord.
