Spiritual Sight
There are gifts God gives us for greater spiritual insight. We need these spiritual gifts in our life and God desires that we seek them. Even though, with them, we still don’t see completely because perfection hasn’t come, we should seek them because they help us in so many ways – drawing nearer to God, understanding, knowing, and seeing, speaking and building others up in their faith through the use of these gifts.
As we seek and grow in these gifts, which are given by God, we can live with greater awareness and insight of the people and the circumstances around us. As God reveals greater spiritual perception we are able to change the dynamics of spiritual powers of opposition. Our senses are elevated. Our living and understanding is elevated. Our decisions are elevated. Our capacity is elevated. We don't just live in the natural with natural eyesight, God desires we have greater spiritual insight in order to live more fully and effectively.
God knows each person completely, now, but we are still getting to know God. One day, we will have no more need of seeking spiritual gifts because we will have Christ Himself, face to face, and we will know Him just as we are even now known. When we see Christ, we will see perfection and we will understand perfectly.
1 Corinthians 13:8-12 (GWT)
Love never comes to an end. There is the gift of speaking what God has revealed [prophecy], but it will no longer be used. There is the gift of speaking in other languages, but it will stop by itself. There is the gift of knowledge, but it will no longer be used. Our knowledge is incomplete and our ability to speak what God has revealed is incomplete. But when what is complete comes, then what is incomplete will no longer be used. When I was a child, I spoke like a child, thought like a child, and reasoned like a child. When I became an adult, I no longer used childish ways. Now we see a blurred image in a mirror. Then we will see very clearly. Now my knowledge is incomplete. Then I will have complete knowledge as God has complete knowledge of me.
I pray that as we seek spiritual sight through the spiritual gifts God gives us, He will increase our capacity to receive and see as fully as possible. I pray we see in spirit and in truth, that our eyesight will not be corrupted, and seeking these gifts will draw us nearer to God and His perfection, until He returns.
