Drilling Into The Rock

Drilling into rock is tough work. It takes heavy equipment, a lot of grind and sweat equity. But digging into rock means what you're building will be solid, so it's worth the effort.

Luke 6:47-48 (ESV)

Everyone who comes to me and hears my words and does them, I will show you what he is like: he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock.

When we drill down into the rock we are not shaken, we are secure, and what we build will be secure.

Sometimes, if we take our eyes off what is right and good, a couple of bad choices can obliterate years of consistent faithfulness. In those times, we need to hold on to what we've been drilling down into, and know that we are never forsaken.

Luke 6:45 (NLT)

A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. What you say flows from what is in your heart.

I pray we see what we can do today and the way in which we should do it. I pray we dig down deep into the rock and hold our family secure in God’s Word. I pray that we allow Him to instruct our direction and know, no matter what the circumstances are, we are secure in Him and He will hold us fast.
