Be Still

Be still in order to consider the Lord’s insights. They are light in the darkness.

Psalm 119:105 (NET)

Your word is a lamp to walk by, and a light to illumine my path.

Learning not to be full of our own words and opinions is a work in progress. It’s easy to drown out other people. It's easy to drown out our spirit because our own thoughts are so loud. That’s when we feel the storm toss inside ourselves the most. That’s when we need to be silenced, and to be still and let the perfect peace of Jesus Christ rule in our mind and heart.

Mark 4:39 (MSB)

Then Jesus got up and rebuked the wind and the sea. “Silence!” He commanded. “Be still!” And the wind died down, and it was perfectly calm.

What a beautiful picture. Imagine that moment and stay there briefly.

Colossians 3:16a (LAB)

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly

We need to be quicker to come into alignment with The Holy Spirit. His word is there to admonish and charge us. It is active if we are continually meditating on it, day and night. The Spirit of God is there directing us if we listen to His still voice inside of us. When the atmosphere inside our minds is submitted to Jesus Christ THE WORD, and we are directed in that, the atmosphere around us will change because He commands that atmosphere through His Word.

Through us, He speaks! Recognise when His words and our words get mixed up. His words can speak through us so clearly that there is perfection. The perfect outcome for every storm. Total calm.

Psalm 12:6 (NET)

The Lord’s words are absolutely reliable. They are as untainted as silver purified in a furnace on the ground, where it is thoroughly refined.
