Because He Says So
As children, when we have little skirmishes and arguments with friends and evidence is demanded, our go-to response is ‘because my dad says so’ or ‘because my mum says so’.
As believers, we are engaged with our heavenly Father in the same way. When doubts, skirmishes or trials come we lean into our knowledge of God’s goodness and trust that He will work things out for out good ‘because He says so’.
Romans 8:28 (NLT)
And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
Ephesians 3:20 (TLB)
Now glory be to God, who by his mighty power at work within us is able to do far more than we would ever dare to ask or even dream of—infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, or hopes.
Romans 8:31 (NLT)
What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?
Our heavenly Father is our big daddy who looks after our best interests. When we have doubts, upheavals or calamities, (and we will because we live in a fallen world) we don’t need to fear these things and we don’t need to doubt God’s goodness.
We resolve ourselves to faithfulness and endurance, and we go back and sit in the deep seat of trust in God, and we remember that He has sent the Holy Spirit to intercede on our behalf to work out His perfect will for our lives.
Romans 8:27 (NCV)
God can see what is in people’s hearts. And he knows what is in the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit speaks to God for his people in the way God wants.
Because He says so, I can trust in Him and I rely on Him to do what only He can do.
Psalm 37:4-6 (NIV)
Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun.
Isaiah 12:2 (NIV)
Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord himself, is my strength and my defense[song]; he has become my salvation.”
