What Do You Do

With Your Time?

What do you do with your free time? What do you spend your time thinking about? What do you enjoy doing? What do you see in the world around you that can be positively impacted by you?

This could be your calling. If it has a social impact, an impact on relationships, if it keeps you growing, if it fills you with joy and energy, if it brings you closer to God, this could be your calling.

You don’t need much to start. A full heart is important, your mind to activate ideas, your hands and feet to do the work, and you can start.

It’s not about being noticed by people. Are you using your time on this earth to do something that will last and will be noticed by God?

John 15:5 (GWT)

"I am the vine. You are the branches. Those who live in me while I live in them will produce a lot of fruit. But you can't produce anything without me.

He’s talking about things that last into eternity. If we want the fruit produced in our lives to be worth something, do we remember we are made in our Heavenly Father’s image so that what we produce reflects Him also? Are we following Jesus’ way so that we’re doing things with the right motivation, in humility and thankfulness to God? Do we allow the Holy Spirit to inspire us and motivate us? Do we listen to Him with discernment to know if we’re going off course or staying true to what’s important to Him?

These things are important to consider because if we’re walking closely with God, these things will fill us with joy and strength as we do what we do. Then we can leave the results up to God’s will for us.

Proverbs 16:9 (AMP)

A man’s mind plans his way [as he journeys through life], But the LORD directs his steps and establishes them.

Colossians 3:23 (BSB)

Whatever you do, work at it with your whole being, for the Lord and not for men

1 Corinthians 16:14 (AMP)

Let everything you do be done in love [motivated and inspired by God’s love for us].

Luke 6:38 (ESV)

Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”

Take a few quiet moments to reflect on what you’re doing. Let the Lord, God’s Spirit, whisper to you and quietly talk with Him about it.
