Are you ready for your next step forward? Are you working towards something that lights your fire? Are you carrying something stored in your heart? Do you have a compulsion to do a certain something that you are chomping on the bit to fulfil?
Everyone has something valuable to do. You don't have to get paid for it for it to be of value. Your time is important. If you utilise the time you have with the skills and the passion that's been deposited in you, and build into that every day, little by little, it will grow. Little by little, you will grow. You will find things of value that you were called to do and you will somehow, in some way, benefit others.
Next Level
Let God steer you.
If you do things out of a passion, you'll do it whether you're paid or not. First of all, let your passion light the fire in you, delight yourself in the Lord, and be thankful when your soul prospers.
Believe God’s given you a purpose, passions, gifts and talents to be used well. God is a rewarder of diligence. Do you believe God wants you to be fulfilled in utilising your gifts? It’s those gifts that can lead you to a life lived with great capacity and recompense.
Psalm 32:8 (NLT)
The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.
Seek Him
God has a way of weaving things together in a way we could never conceive.
Don’t worry about anything. Don't push your own agenda. Don't improvise.
Work hard, but don't take the initiative off God.
Follow Him into the future, according to His divine calendar. He’ll see to it that your needs are met.
Matthew 6:31-34
So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
See Him
2 Kings 6:17 (NIV)
Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes.
Be willing to see with your spiritual eyes more clearly than you do with your natural eyes.
If we are looking to Him, following what we know to do, waiting to hear, waiting to act, waiting to be utilised at any moment that He says, we will be ready. We will hear His promptings and follow.
Jesus went out early each morning to pray. He spent time with the Father to draw close. His cup was filled and He knew what His purpose was for each day. His mind was intent on the Spirit.
If we’re to fulfil our purpose, I suggest trying to establish a similar work ethic.
See each day as His mission for you. Be willing to follow the inclinations you may have throughout the day or at the onset of each day and don't doubt if you believe they're from Him. Be willing to see where they lead. You will learn to know the voice of the Shepherd through the times you get it wrong and the times you get it right. More and more you’ll learn to get it right.
John 10:27 (NKJV)
My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.
Each day can be fulfilling. Each day can be an exciting adventure. Are you ready?
