His Yes and Our Amen

2 Corinthians 1:20 (NLV)

Jesus says yes to all of God’s many promises. It is through Jesus that we say, “Let it be so,” when we give thanks to God.

“Let it be so”, is the literal translation from Hebrew and Greek to the word, “amen”. We can wholeheartedly, with thankfulness, say, “amen”, when we read the promises of God. Jesus has fulfilled them so through Jesus we agree in faith and declare, “let it be so”.

2 Corinthians 1:20 (GWT)

Certainly, Christ made God’s many promises come true. For that reason, because of our message, people also honour God by saying, “Amen!”

When we agree with anything we need to know it honours God and, in doing so, we are giving thanks to Him who has already worked it out. When we say, “amen”, we are saying, “let it be so”.

Mark 11:22-24 (AMP)

Jesus replied, “Have faith in God [constantly]. I assure you and most solemnly say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea!’ and does not doubt in his heart [in God’s unlimited power], but believes that what he says is going to take place, it will be done for him [in accordance with God’s will]. For this reason I am telling you, whatever things you ask for in prayer [in accordance with God’s will], believe [with confident trust] that you have received them, and they will be given to you.

We may not be believing for a literal mountain to be picked up and thrown into the sea but we are believing for mountains in our lives to be removed and God’s will to be established. It's not our will, and it's not our power. It is through Jesus Christ that the will of God be established through His yes and our amen.

Matthew 18:18-20 (NLT)

“I tell you the truth, whatever you forbid on earth will be forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven. “I also tell you this: If two of you agree here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you. For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.”

This is the power, and truth, of God’s established, “yes”, and our, “amen”, through Jesus Christ.
