Noticing Grace
Grace is a lovely word. We know it as that thing that saves our eternal soul. God gives us undeserved grace for our sin and continues to forgive us when we have a repentant heart.
His grace overflows.
Grace is a free gift that can never be earned. Grace is what we place our hope in, through Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 1:13 (NLT)
Put all your hope in the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world.
Amazingly, it’s even more than that.
Grace is a practical gift and a powerful tool that again, we cannot earn, but we can receive.
Grace is a power that gives us more capacity than we naturally have, to do the good works that God set out for us to do.
2 Corinthians 9:8 (ESV)
And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.
How am I noticing grace in my life?
Most days, I don’t feel up to the day ahead of me. Within myself, I don’t feel like I have the capacity or the energy to meet the demands I know I will face. But as I walk through my day, each day, I experience the capacity that I need, and I observe an ease and a prospering in the work I’m doing. It’s something of a miracle each day.
I recognise, that’s the power of God’s grace overflowing and working through me. In my weakness, He makes me strong and I can rise to the challenges in front of me. I have to be applied, but I know His grace is giving me a power and a favour that I don’t naturally have, even while it works itself out in a natural way. The evidence is seen in the results around me.
2 Corinthians 12:9 (NLT)
Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.
I pray you also understand and experience the same overflowing power through you, that is God’s grace.
Grace and peace be yours in abundance (1 Peter 1:2).
