I Am Calm
I remind myself of this little phrase when the noise in my head starts causing me to feel like I’m bouncing around a steel box, clanging, getting bruised and finding it hard to connect with who I need to be in the moment.
Proverbs 12:25 (NKJV)
Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, but a good word makes it glad.
A good word can be the things we tell ourselves. I am calm reminds me that I am capable. I don’t have to let stress or anxiety rule my behaviour.
2 Timothy 1:7 (NIV)
For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
This helps me to feel connected to strength. It makes me anchored and assured again when I’m starting to rattle. It reminds me who God has created me to be in storms.
I am calm reminds me to show gentleness that God so prizes.
1 Peter 3:15 (NLV)
Be gentle as you speak and show respect.
I am calm reminds me who Christ wants me to be and helps me to maintain peace, knowing His presence is always with me.
Psalm 4:8 (NLV)
I will lie down and sleep in peace. O Lord, You alone keep me safe.
I pray the peace and the strength of the Holy Spirit wrap itself around you and keep you in His calm.
