The God of My Salvation

Psalm 2:1-6 (NET)

Why do the nations conspire and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth rise up and the rulers band together against the Lord and against his anointed, saying, “Let us break their chains and throw off their shackles.” The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them. He rebukes them in his anger and terrifies them in his wrath, saying, “I have installed my king on Zion, my holy mountain.”

Why do people rage against the LORD? He is terrifying in His wholeness. What is man to Him?

Why do some people shake their fists at God? Those who don’t know Him.

Others shake their heads. Those who refuse Him.

But others’ hearts shake in recognition of His immense power and glory. Those who revere Him.

If you are on the LORD’s side, you have nothing to fear. If you’re shaking in fear because of circumstances in your life, or you’re shaking in fear because of someone who seems to hold all the Aces over you, step back a moment.

Take a good look again at the God you serve.

The God who led the Israelites out of Egypt even while He hardened Pharoah’s heart, He is the God who is for you and leads you out of your nightmare.

The God who held back the waters of the River Jordan so the entire nation of Israel could cross into their promised land, He is the God who will hold back the waters for you and lead you into His destiny for you.

The God who closed and opened wombs – Sarah, Rachael, Hannah … me, He is the God who can open your womb too.

There is nothing too hard for the LORD your God (Jeremiah 32:7, Matthew 19:26).

The LORD honours those who honour him but despises those who despise Him (1 Samuel 2:30).

He is the God who can open resources to you when you have no means because He is your source of all things.

He is the God who can heal your memories just as He healed Elijah’s after the slaughter that took place on Mt. Carmel.

He is the God who can restore what the years have eaten.

He is the God who can heal relationships, restrain evil and lift oppression off of you. He is the God who rises against those who oppose you and gives you favour when you least expect it. He is the God who directs your paths.

When you place your confidence in the God of the bible, you can know you are placing your hope in the God of your salvation.
