Be Still

and Let Go

When our thoughts become louder than God's voice, how do we become still? When our heart is anxious, our mind is burdened, and our thoughts are frustrated, how do we stand silent? How do we let go of that raging storm inside?

We stop.

We breathe.

Exodus 14:14 (NIV)

The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

We wait.

Psalm 37:7 (NLT)

Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes.

We listen.

We meditate on God’s Word and we become quiet.

Psalm 46:10

(NLT) “Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honoured by every nation. I will be honoured throughout the world.”

(NLV) Be quiet and know that I am God. I will be honoured among the nations. I will be honoured in the earth.

(GWT) Let go of your concerns! Then you will know that I am God. I rule the nations. I rule the earth.

(TLB) “Stand silent! Know that I am God! I will be honoured by every nation in the world!”

(GNT) “Stop fighting,” he says, “and know that I am God, supreme among the nations, supreme over the world.”

We pray.

We believe.

We welcome God’s presence and we become at peace.

Mark 4:39 (GNT)

Jesus stood up and commanded the wind, “Be quiet!” and he said to the waves, “Be still!” The wind died down, and there was a great calm.

We worship God for being supreme, ruler over all, and we fear Him with awe.

Habakkuk 2:20 (GWT)

The Lord is in his holy temple. All the earth should be silent in his presence.

We choose to refrain from worry, doubt, and anger and we choose to put our lives in His hands.

Psalm 4:4 (TLB)

Stand before the Lord in awe, and do not sin against him. Lie quietly upon your bed in silent meditation.
