Live Up To

What You Know

You carry within you great wealth. You carry within you an ever-growing knowledge and understanding of God’s wisdom. With that wisdom, live up to what you know. With a greater and greater measure of knowledge, wisdom and understanding, live your life without shrinking back, but lean into the wind. As you lean into the wind, you are being built up and strengthened.

With endurance, comes patience. With resilience, comes gentleness. With weathering, comes a greater ability to stand.

Eventually, you will wear the ultimate prize; the crown of life. (James 1:2.)

Philippians 3:16

(NIV)  Only let us live up to what we have already attained.

(NLT) But we must hold on to the progress we have already made.

(TLB) fully obey the truth you have.

(GWT) we should be guided by what we have learned so far.

(CEV) But we must keep going in the direction that we are now headed.

What do you know? What understanding do you have? Keep going in that knowledge and in that understanding, obeying it, making progress, living up to it.

Philippians 4:9 (TLB)

Keep putting into practice all you learned from me and saw me doing, and the God of peace will be with you.

Keep allowing your character to be built. Keep standing firm against the winds of adversity that blow gales at you. You don’t have to be shaken.

What is it that you know? Set your gaze resolutely on those things. The winds, the adversity does not have to take their toll in the way you might expect. (1 John 1:3.)

Don't bow to the emotional whirlpools that drag you under and tow you away from what you know to be true. Don't bow to those temptations that lead you to a weaker position. Lean into the wind and live up to what you know.

Hebrews 10:39 (NIV)

But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved.

Colossians 1:9-11 (NLV)

I ask God that you may know what He wants you to do. I ask God to fill you with the wisdom and understanding the Holy Spirit gives. Then your lives will please the Lord. You will do every kind of good work, and you will know more about God. I pray that God’s great power will make you strong, and that you will have joy as you wait and do not give up.
