Fully Assured
When something in life has been neglected, stolen, forsaken, or perhaps never been there, it can take a long time to build or rebuild. It takes a reason to do it, intention and determination, heart, dedication, and belief.
When we learn to be fully assured in God, in His will and pattern and purpose for our life, it takes all of the same qualities.
Hebrews 10:22 (NLT)
let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him.
Throughout His Word God assures us that He is faithful, that we are not to be in doubt or afraid. In believing in Him, in trusting in His faithfulness, and not being in doubt or being afraid, we release our unbelief and surrender to His goodness and sovereignty.
Hebrews 10:35-36 (NLT)
So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you! Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised.
The bible is blunt about the consequences of trusting in the human will versus God.
Jeremiah 17:5-8 (NLT)
This is what the Lord says: “Cursed are those who put their trust in mere humans, who rely on human strength and turn their hearts away from the Lord. They are like stunted shrubs in the desert, with no hope for the future. They will live in the barren wilderness, in an uninhabited salty land. “But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.
Isaiah 30:15 (NLV)
The Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, has said, “In turning away from sin and in rest, you will be saved. Your strength will come by being quiet and by trusting.”
I pray that we will know that strength of quiet confidence, trusting in the faithful goodness and power of God. I pray we will walk hand in hand with Him, seeking after His will, knowing His voice, and cherishing His nearness. I pray that we will learn the beauty of living fully assured in Him.
