Fully Assured

When something in life has been neglected, stolen, forsaken, or perhaps never present, it can take a long time to rebuild. It takes a recognised reason, and intention. It takes resolve and determination. It takes heart, belief, and devotion.

When we learn to be fully assured in God's will, pattern and purpose for our life, it takes all of those same qualities: a recognised reason, intention, resolve, determination, heart, belief and devotion.

We live by faith

Hebrews 10:22 (NLT)

let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him.

Throughout His Word God assures us that He is faithful, that we are not to be in doubt or afraid. When we believe in Him and do not doubt, when we trust in His faithfulness and are not afraid, we release all unbelief and surrender to His goodness and sovereignty.

Hebrews 10:35-36 (NLT)

So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you! Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised.

Some people can appear strong and of sound mind, until you realise they're not. They speak knowledgably and carry a presence about them that seems assuring. But they're not always as switched on as they'd like others to believe. They're working things out, too. The bible is blunt about the consequences of trusting in the human will versus God.

Jeremiah 17:5-8 (NLT)

This is what the Lord says: “Cursed are those who put their trust in mere humans, who rely on human strength and turn their hearts away from the Lord. They are like stunted shrubs in the desert, with no hope for the future. They will live in the barren wilderness, in an uninhabited salty land. “But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.

The bible assures us that as long as we keep our hope and confidence in the Lord we will not need to hope in others. Because we rely on God's direction. He is the ultimate leader, the ultimate source of comfort and counsel, our ultimate assurance.

Isaiah 30:15 (NLV)

The Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, has said, “In turning away from sin and in rest, you will be saved. Your strength will come by being quiet and by trusting.”

I pray that we will know that strength of quiet confidence, trusting in the faithful goodness and power of God. I pray we will walk hand in hand with Him, seeking after His will, knowing His voice, and cherishing His nearness. I pray that we find rest in His presence and learn the beauty of living fully assured in Him.
