Life Is But A Breath
When we have had someone who has blown a mist of healing across our lives it’s something to be thankful for. But life is but a breath and we all pass away, our bodies returning to the ground, our soul being extended to its eternal destination.
When we lose someone to the grave, we may wonder where our loved one’s eternity is, but we can trust God has given them every opportunity to make that decision for themselves.
We must wait on the Lord to renew our strength to keep running without weariness so that we fulfil our purpose in each other’s lives.
Isaiah 40:31 (NASB)
Yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary.
Living and loving is the reason for every day we get up. Relationships are sweet, bitter, triumphant, chaotic, chaining and freeing, sorrowful and joyful. Relationships are part of God’s master plan for our lives. They make us who we are.
Some people come into our lives and wreak havoc, as if they’re an earth works mover, pounding, ripping up, and demolishing our pathway.
Some people come into our lives and lay a garden, softly whispering, gently breathing a sweet aroma that weaves its way like mist across our soul.
God brings one to heal from the other.
We are all God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works that He called for us in advance to do. He can lead us to restore each other where someone else has laid waste.
Yet, have we believed and trusted in Him? Are we choosing to live for Him? God is waiting to show us grace and loving-kindness and desires that we do the same for each other.
We need to know why we’re here and seek to be good to each other. We also need to know where we’re going so that the good we’ve done will be rewarded and the hardship we’ve created for others will be forgiven. If we don’t live for Him, we’ve wasted our lives and we will be eternally lost. That’s a devastation that far out-weighs anything else in this life.

Ephesians 2:4-10 (NASB)
But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our wrongdoings, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the ages to come He might show the boundless riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
Life is but a breath and then we pass into eternity and are called to account.
How is your life counting, how is my life counting in the lives of those around us? And how will it be justified in eternity?
