Walk in Quiet Confidence

How often do we face a day and think, I need more capacity? I don’t have enough in my tank to meet the demands of today.

That’s when we look to the Lord and thank God for what He’s given us. He is able to multiply what we have so that it will be more than enough.

Matthew 14:15-16 (NCV)

When it was evening, his followers came to him and said, “No one lives in this place, and it is already late. Send the people away so they can go to the towns and buy food for themselves.”

But Jesus answered, “They don’t need to go away. You give them something to eat.”

They said to him, “But we have only five loaves of bread and two fish.”

Jesus said, “Bring the bread and the fish to me.” Then he told the people to sit down on the grass. He took the five loaves and the two fish and, looking to heaven, he thanked God for the food. Jesus divided the bread and gave it to his followers, who gave it to the people. All the people ate and were satisfied. Then the followers filled twelve baskets with the leftover pieces of food.

People often push work away to someone else. No one wants to take responsibility. No one wants to take the burden. But we are called. We don’t need to push things away, or people away. We are there to provide what is needed because we are Christ Jesus’ hands and feet. We are called to step into the gap, not over it.

We are His workmanship. There will always be enough as we walk. We may not see it or feel it in advance, but as we walk, God moves ahead to make the rough places smooth, to put the right people in place, to give us what we need. All we need is the right heart.

Walk in quiet confidence.

Thank you Lord, for what you’ve given me, for where you’ve placed me and for the people around me. I pray I will be a blessing to those around me and what you’ve called me to do. I pray that the work of my hands and the words of my mouth will be acceptable and pleasing to you, that you will place the right people around me and you will make all things work together for good. Move over me and through me today. Give me your power and strength, your grace and wisdom, that the fruit of your spirit will be effective in me, that your will be done in my life and in my household. In Jesus name, I ask and go, amen.
