The Seven-Fold
Attitude We Carry
Being conscious of living my life according to the precepts of God, I lean into the knowledge that the same Spirit that was in Christ Jesus, lives and functions in me.
Consider, with me, how the seven-fold attitude of the Holy Spirit that we carry, is practically lived out in our lives.
Isaiah 11:2-3 (NLV)
And the Spirit of the Lord will rest on Him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of wise words and strength, the spirit of much learning and the fear of the Lord. He will be glad in the fear of the Lord. He will not judge by what His eyes see, or decide by what His ears hear.
We can learn to be directed in our daily life by the Holy Spirit’s seven-fold ministry.
The seven-fold ministry of the Spirit of the Lord is given to function in every follower of Jesus Christ because Christ gave us His Spirit. When we understand we are equipped with His Spirit, His wisdom, His understanding, His counsel, His power, His knowledge and the fear of the Lord, we lose our fear of people.
See how the Word comes together so beautifully.
We are not our own but are His temple (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).
We have been given more than what we are capable of on our own (Ephesians 3:20) to operate well in life, even in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).
We carry His identity and all of His attributes (1 Corinthians 3:23).
Our bodies will die, but our life in Christ will continue (Romans 8:10).
Focusing on the gifts and the attributes that the Holy Spirit gives in this life will cause what we do in this life to have eternal significance. We will care about that the more we get to know God's word. Anything we value and focus on that is only for this temporal life will be lost in eternity. We are cautioned to be careful how we build in this life, and to consider what we focus our attention on.
1 Corinthians 3:12-15 (GNT)
Some will use gold or silver or precious stones in building on the foundation; others will use wood or grass or straw. And the quality of each person's work will be seen when the Day of Christ exposes it. For on that Day fire will reveal everyone's work; the fire will test it and show its real quality. If what was built on the foundation survives the fire, the builder will receive a reward. But if your work is burnt up, then you will lose it; but you yourself will be saved, as if you had escaped through the fire.
What are you using to build on the foundation of Christ Jesus? Gold or silver or precious stones, or wood or grass or straw? Are you using the attributes of the Holy Spirit, and the gifts He's given you?
Lord, we need your help to build with quality. You are our sure foundation and you deserve for us to work at our best to continue your building. Help us to utilise the best that we have for your glory.
