Wake Up and

Draw Near to The Lord

As we wake up, it's good to bring our slumberous mind before the Lord. Greet Him and draw near. Our sleep-wake state is sensitive and open to the Lord, if we keep our mind stayed on Him. If we turn our thoughts to Him, with thanksgiving, we can seek His gentle Presence before we even open our eyes. We will find Him there in those soft moments, waiting to encourage us. When our first thoughts are focused on Him and then we quietly turn to scripture, our hearts become sensitive and focused on Him too. Those precious moments can gently shape our day.

Remember the Lord, He is near.

The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth.

Psalm 143:8 (NIV)

Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.

No one who hopes in you will ever be put to shame, but shame will come on those who are treacherous without cause. Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.

Teach me your way, Lord, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.

Psalm 39:7

(NASB) “And now, Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is in You.

(AMP) “And now, Lord, for what do I expectantly wait? My hope [my confident expectation] is in You.

What do you typically wake up carrying in your heart? If it's not something worth carrying you can exchange it straight away, in your sleep-wake state, even before you get up. Wake up and draw near to the Lord. He is near. Whatever God has for you has the ability to guide you, uplift you, and nurture you.

Philippians 4:4-7 (NLV)

Be full of joy always because you belong to the Lord. Again I say, be full of joy! Let all people see how gentle you are. The Lord is coming again soon. Do not worry. Learn to pray about everything. Give thanks to God as you ask Him for what you need. The peace of God is much greater than the human mind can understand. This peace will keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
