His Words Are Your Strength
Can you imagine if your words lasted throughout every generation on earth? Can you imagine if they had the power to order and direct lives for good and for eternity?
At best, we might have a phrase that is remembered and repeated in our family. Like a drop in a bucket that echoes for a brief time.
Psalm 119:160 (NKJV)
The entirety of Your word is truth, And every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever.
God is the author and finisher of life itself. How amazing it is that we get to be in His family, listening to His words and being steered by them.
Psalm 89:3-6 (NLV)
You said, “I have made an agreement with My chosen one. I have promised to David, Your servant. I will make your seed last forever. I will build up your throne for all the children-to-come.” O Lord, the heavens will praise Your great works and how faithful You are in the meeting of the holy ones. For who in the heavens is like the Lord? Who among the sons of the powerful is like the Lord?
The angels know to praise Him. They praise Him for His faithfulness and His strength. The angels are filled with the knowledge of Him and praise Him accordingly. Do we?
Psalm 89:13-18 (NLV)
You have a strong arm. Your hand is powerful. Your right hand is honoured. Your throne stands on what is right and fair. Loving-kindness and truth go before You. How happy are the people who know the sound of joy! They walk in the light of Your face, O Lord. They are full of joy in Your name all day long. And by being right with You, they are honoured. For You are the shining-greatness of their strength. And our horn is lifted high by Your favour. For our safe-covering belongs to the Lord. And our king belongs to the Holy One of Israel.
A horn is a symbol for strength. Imagine that by following God’s words we are filled with strength and given favour. His words give us safe-covering. His words make us right with Him and that fills us with a peace and a joy that we can’t experience any other way. His words are your strength.
How will you choose to experience Him today? How will you draw near and invite Him close to walk with you? How will you learn from Him and follow His words so that you will be filled with His strength?
Psalm 119:28-29 (NIV)
strengthen me according to your word. Keep me from deceitful ways; be gracious to me and teach me your law.
