To carry assurance, we have to know what we’re about. Assurance in ourselves means we build a firm conviction of who we are. Assurance, as a Christian, means we build a firm conviction of who we are made to be, for a purpose, by the author of life Himself. Our identity becomes firmly rooted in Him. Assurance in God means we can have an unwavering stability and trust in what God has planned, no matter what. It is not a mindless hope that feeds us, it is a firm conviction; faith. We need to let this spiritual assurance, this conviction, this confidence, seep into the very fabric of our soul and become part of who we are.

Hebrews 11:1 (NASB)

Now faith is the certainty of things hoped for [a expected], a proof of things [b conviction about], not seen.

Christians are assured that their faith in the knowledge of Jesus Christ is not just another world view, it is the foundation of life itself. That is a sure foundation. Because of that, Christians ought to be the most secure, the most assured, the most transparent, the most victorious, the most joyful, the most confident, the most hopeful, the most anticipated, the most unaffected people on earth.

Am I? I have to continually understand how it is so, and build myself up in this faith until I am rooted and grounded in it's core foundation - love. (Ephesians 3:17.)

When we’re consumed with the knowledge of Jesus Christ it is because we place our foundation - all of our thoughts, all of our heart, all of our feelings, all of our motivations and intentions, all of our dreams and goals and plans - in the depth of His love. Whether we’re accepted by others or not, whether we’re “in” with people or on the fringe, it need not matter. We can be happy to stand alone. We can be happy to stand with others. Either way, we can be, and have every confidence in being, assured in Christ Jesus.

Carrying assurance in Christ means there is no place for fear or doubt; we place our trust in Him, and our trust in Him means that it becomes mutual.

Christ wants to trust our assurance in Him and find joy in the knowledge that He is for us. In all things. With all people. We are His workmanship.

Ephesians 2:10 (BSB)

For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance as our way of life.

Walking in assurance, doing what He has gifted us to do, to live fully and richly, to extend what and embrace who God has placed in our hands, is our way of life that God preordained for us. Life experience can bash this knowledge out of us but faith in Christ can rebuild it. The quality of assurance in Him will reproduce a quality of excellence, a trust and a confidence in life.

I pray we realise this today and walk in trust and His confident assurance. I pray we realise the promises that He has stored up for us (that are His yes and our agreed amen).

2 Corinthians 1:20 (AMP)

For as many as are the promises of God, in Christ they are [all answered] “Yes.” So through Him we say our “Amen” to the glory of God.
