The Gift of Your Destiny

If we are chasing a destiny built in God, it helps to measure our days.

Psalm 39:4 (CEB)

“Let me know my end, Lord. How many days do I have left? I want to know how brief my time is.”

Nobody knows if they have 30 minutes left, 30 days or 30 years. It is wise to seek the Sovereign giver and taker of life about the length of our days (Psalm 90:12). If it wise to do so, the reason must be to seek what we should be doing with each of those days.

Ephesians 2:10 (BSB)

For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance as our way of life.

When we wake, and we want to live this day for the Lord towards the destiny that He has planned for us, are we asking Him, "what do you require of me today?"

Our cause is to be diligent.

Ecclesiastes 9:10a (NASB 1995)

Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might

We may not know how our day will unfold. But we can carry an open heart and an attitude to follow the Holy Spirit's promptings with an immediacy that will make us an asset to God's kingdom. If we keep our eyes and ears open to anything that needs doing we will be useful and God will cause what we do to be a blessing.

Ultimately, our destiny isn't our arrival at the pinnacle of any achievement or milestone here on earth. Our destiny is wrapped up in our heart. The heart we carry today determines the direction of our tomorrow. The direction of our tomorrow determines the outcome of our destiny.
