God Knew

Before You Did

There are so many occasions in life that we stumble over without realising what we touched. So many occasions we didn’t map out but once on the other side we begin to see God’s detailed plan has already taken shape.

Moments of rest when you had to take time off work for school holidays. Moments of connection when you were looking through an old photo album. Moments of healing laughter when you shared a testing week over coffee with friends. Moments of direction when you listened to someone else’s story and one phrase became prophetic for you. Moments when you put your foot in it and you had to eat some humble pie.

Psalm 139:3 (AMPC)

You sift and search out my path and my lying down, and You are acquainted with all my ways.

Those moments become moments of significance. Afterwards, we can recognise God's work and thank Him for His goodness.

God knew before we did that we needed those moments, and He directed us right into them.

Psalm 121:8 (NLV)

The Lord will watch over your coming and going, now and forever.

Before we could even say, "Thank you", He was already saying, "You’re welcome".

We can learn to perceive the moments that God has given us for the very thing we need, and thank Him.

Healing. Rest. Connection. Direction. Perspective.

When we perceive that these moments are indeed from Him, we can ask Him if there’s more He wants to do in the moment. If we pause and reflect, we can create an atmosphere to receive or pass on even more of what He has planned.

I will answer them before they even call to me. While they are still talking about their needs, I will go ahead and answer their prayers!

Can you think of times God has directed you into moments you needed but weren't expecting in the way He brought them about?

I pray we will recognise the moments God directs us into and acknowledge the intricate detail it took to get us there. I pray that we will allow an even greater work to take place as we make ourselves more aware of His direction in our lives.
