Carry Healing Appropriately
When someone is sick, they are careful to tend to themselves appropriately. The road to recovery comes by following a plan. You stay in bed because you need rest. You drink lots of fluids because you need hydration and electrolytes. You follow medicated treatment because you need to fight infection. As someone recovers, their plan is adjusted to suit the recovery process. Once they can resume life more normally, however, there may be changes to make to their lifestyle in order to remain healthy.
Think about healing from emotional hurts and hurdles in the same way, fostering ourselves carefully in this way also. To support our healing process, we need to carry healing appropriately. Observe triggers. Wherever indicative, associate behaviour with past trauma or rhetoric. Utilise tools to mitigate hurts. Refrain from aligning with what is untrue. Understand where responsibility truly lies. Practise grace and humility, and for believers, build ourselves up in the faith.
Jeremiah 17:14 (NLT)
O Lord, if you heal me, I will be truly healed; if you save me, I will be truly saved. My praises are for you alone!
Healing requires continual adjustments to aid recovery and strength.
As we recover, and especially once we’ve recovered, we learn that we are strengthened by taking our eyes off ourselves and fixing them on Jesus, on His ways, and we will continue to stride forward without looking back.
Romans 12:2 (NLV)
Let God change your life. First of all, let Him give you a new mind. Then you will know what God wants you to do. And the things you do will be good and pleasing and perfect.
Ephesians 4:23 (NLT)
let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes.
Colossians 3:10 (NLT)
Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him.
The Word of God is like medicine for the soul. It prescribes, it offers insight and wisdom, it clarifies, it teaches, it admonishes and comforts, it nurtures and brings transformation. It eliminates and replaces toxicity with health. It purges and purifies.
Proverbs 4:20-27 (NIV)
My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to one’s whole body. Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. Keep your mouth free of perversity; keep corrupt talk far from your lips. Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways. Do not turn to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil.
3 John 1:2 (NIV)
Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.
