They Ran To Touch Him

Everywhere Jesus went people ran to Him. They ran ahead of Him and they ran to catch up with Him. They ran because there was nobody like Jesus. Nobody who had the power or the compassion to heal so many in so many ways.

Mark 6:56 (NASB)

And wherever He entered villages, or cities, or a countryside, they were laying the sick in the marketplaces and imploring Him that they might just touch the fringe of His cloak; and all who touched it were being [saved]healed.

People weren’t just being healed. They were being saved. Saved! Saved from their physical limitations and pain. Saved from their depression and their acute anxiety. Saved from their demons. Saved from their isolation and ostracism. By touching the fringe of His cloak. Saved at a cell level by touching His clothes.

But they had to draw close to Him. They had to at least touch Him. And they did. They ran to touch Him.

How much do we want to be saved? Healed? Set free? Do we run to touch Him today?

Exodus 15:25-26 (TLB)

It was there at Marah that the Lord laid before them the following conditions, to test their commitment to him: “If you will listen to the voice of the Lord your God, and obey it, and do what is right, then I will not make you suffer the diseases I sent on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord who heals you.”

Hebrews 13:8 (TLB)

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
