Believers are described as trees in the bible, which has rich symbolism of strength, permanence, and provision from God. When disease is found to be eating away at our branches, we need to firstly produce one certain type of fruit.

Our first response to anger, unfairness, or fear is not usually to go have a lie down and be quiet, be still, and look at our own heart first. But that’s what the bible counsels us to do.

Therefore, you kings, be wise; be warned, your rulers of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear and celebrate His rule with trembling. Blessed are all who take refuge in Him.

This helps me to feel connected to strength. It makes me anchored and assured again when I’m starting to rattle. It reminds me who God has created me to be in storms.

It’s very special to know that the Maker of all is taking notice of you and cares so much that He wants to guide you personally. Are you gathering a guidebook, a life manual together for yourself of the things He’s saying to you?

Combining shrewd and innocence seems, at first, to be a juxtaposition. Let’s look at various definitions for a little clarity and try and connect some dots.

God cares about what we wear, but His clothing is all about our reputation, our senses, our countenance and how we manage ourselves in the world.

Nothing is too hard for God. Even where there seems to be no way, at the right time, God will do what He decides to do. Run into this day with courage and confidence.

God has a cup especially designed for me. It’s handcrafted by Him. It’s my cup of destiny. My cup has dates written around it, people imaged over it, places mapped onto it...

Though she was resentful and bitter about her inability to produce life in her life, God used her belief, her desperate hope, her anguish and her pain to produce. You are not good for nothing. God has a point to barrenness but it won’t last forever. Even in times of emptiness, God has a purpose for you to live out and part of that purpose is to be a carrier of faith.

Be who you need to be today. Don’t wait for tomorrow until you’ve gained a certain place you think you need to arrive at. You have arrived. Your arrival has already come. You are called and preserved for now. The ultimate life God has for you has already begun.

We can easily be caught up into a current and swirl of complaining thinking, of bickering and disputing, of one-upmanship and leveraging and positioning. In that place we are broken down and scattered.

We will always have a ‘what if it doesn’t happen?’ anxiety if we’re just hoping, wishing or praying in disbelief. This is why hoping in the power of the Holy Spirit is different. His hope fills us with joy and peace in believing.

To be watered and well, we need friendship, transparent conversations, and time with God drinking in His Word.

Doing hard things can seem like using a key in the wrong lock. Things we find confusing, hurtful or overwhelming can cause us to feel weary, diminished or even defeated, but they don’t have to lock us out of a successful way forward.

I do not run like someone running aimlessly. He equips me to live and function in a way that no one else is placed to do. I have been placed in a lane to run in a race that no one else can run. Love is the reason we have a destiny of hope.

If I’m not feeling free, if I’m burdened, constrained, oppressed, or maligned, I need to recognise where that’s coming from. Is it coming from within me or is it coming at me from other people?

God takes delight when we achieve milestones; when we’re running a good race and we’re keeping our eyes on Him. Even when we’re trying to run well but we’re weary, that’s a milestone.

Catch the vision that God has for you and run with it. Work at it. Pursue it. Be diligent in the small things and you will see all things God has for you unfold.

We don’t have any reason or desire to hide from anything, to stay in dark corners, and we have no need to be influenced or contained by others who choose to stay in the dark. We are alive and well and live in the light
